I never wanted to do anything media-related. I always wanted to be a trauma surgeon. Somehow, the world of journalism got ahold of me and here I am and I’m loving every minute of it.
I recently graduated from Francis Howell High School, where I was editor-in-chief of the award-winning Howelltonian yearbook, design editor of the award-winning Spotlight newspaper, online editor of FHHSToday.com and social media editor for the publications program.
During my time in high school, I wrote for the Washington Missourian‘s MyMo teen page and served as a Journalism Education Association (JEA) Scholastic Press Rights Commission Student Partner. I’m worked on a project called 45words (www.45words.org). I have presented sessions with 45words members at the local, state, and national levels. I am also a former high school blogger for HerCampus.com.
I am a member of Quill & Scroll, the international honor society for student journalists, a three-year member of the National Scholastic Press Association’s journalism honor roll, and a member of J.
I currently attend Mount Holyoke College, where I am a politics major and journalism minor.
